Cogito Mutual Pte. Ltd. is a software company incorporated in Singapore in 2023. We design, build and operate production systems: the applications themselves, the cloud infrastructure they run on, and the security and operational work that keeps them running once real users and real money depend on them.
Our work falls into three areas that are usually parts of the same job rather than separate products. The first is custom software engineering: web applications, APIs, background processing, data modelling and native mobile applications. The second is cloud infrastructure: infrastructure as code, deployment pipelines, observability, backup and restore, and keeping running costs proportionate to what the system actually does. The third is security engineering: authentication and authorisation design, secrets handling, application security reviews, and data protection practices aligned with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act.
Alongside client work, we develop and publish our own applications for web and mobile. Support and privacy information specific to each application is published with that application, and on this site, once it is released.
We work with a small number of clients on long-running engagements, mostly in fintech, lending and consumer platforms. These are systems that handle money, personal data and regulatory obligations, so correctness and traceability matter more than speed of first delivery. Working with few clients over long periods is a deliberate constraint: it means we carry the context of a system across years rather than handing it over at the end of a project.
The team is small and senior. Clients talk directly to the people writing the code, and there is no account layer in between. We take end-to-end ownership of what we ship, which includes the parts that do not demo well: schema migrations, monitoring and alerting, incident response, dependency upgrades, and written documentation that survives after the engagement.
In practice an engagement starts with a short discovery period where we read the existing system, its data and its failure history before proposing anything. We then work in small increments that are deployed and observed rather than accumulated. Where we recognise that a client is better served by an existing tool than by something we would build, we say so.
